At the first roundabout follow the directions for Mira. At the second roundabout again follow directions for Mira/Borbagio. On reaching the Stop sign turn right and pass through the centre of the village of Borbiago. Keep going straight for 800 meters in direction Mira/Mira Porte and then turn left towards SS11 Mira. Follow the winding SS11 for a kilometer and a half. On arriving at the traffic light turn right into Via Nazionale towards Venice and after 300 meters turn left to find the Hotel Villa Margherita.

Local buses from the luxury hotel stop near the hotel doorstep, right outside the villa and go to Venice. There is also a Vaporetto (water bus) stop just 15 minutes away in Fusina.

Exit from the Motorway A4 tollgate “Mira-Oriago” (coming from Padova is subsequent to Dolo-Mirano);

At the 1° roundabout follow sign for Mira;

At the 2° roundabout sign Mira 4km/Borbiago;

At the Stop turn right, cross the center of Borbiago village, at the traffic light go straight on

for 800mt (direction Mira/Mira Porte) and turn left direction SS11 Mira.

Follow this twisting street for 1 ½ km until the traffic light.

Turn left in Via Nazionale (direction Venice) and after 300mt turn left:

The Brenta River can be appreciated on full-day tours on modern boats that follow the route made by the luxurious Burchiello barges which operated between Venice and Padova in the 17th and 18th centuries.Padova (Padua) is the city of St Anthony and home to the second oldest university in Italy. It has an attractive medieval centre with bustling markets and arcaded streets. Shuttle buses link Padova to Venice passing by the Hotel Villa Margherita.

Vicenza has been eternally MARKED by the great renaissance architect Palladio. His work in and around the city led to UNESCO declaring the city one grand World Heritage Site. Vicenza’s close ties with Venice are indicated by the many Gothic Venetian mansions as well as the statues of the lion of St Mark and St Theodore that grace Piazza dei Signori.

Verona is known as little Rome due to its importance during the imperial days and is also famous for its savage family feuding which inspired Shakespeare’s tragic love story Romeo and Juliet. Old Verona is small and it’s easy to wander around making it an excellent day trip destination.
