Accademia bridge

 Accademia bridge is maybe the most romantic bridge of Venice: less crowded than Rialto, from the top it is possible to admire not only the Grand Canal, but also the domes of the Basilica della Salute, which marks the entrance to Saint Mark’s basin.
Accademia bridge is also one of the very few Venetian bridges made in wood (although with an iron-made inner structure). The wooden bridge was built in 1932 as a temporary one (an iron bridge existed here previously).
However, Accademia bridge is still in function, though there are now plans for a new one, which should be always made in wood.
