Correr Museum

A museum on Saint Mark square

In Correr Museum on Saint Mark square, one of the most interesting museums of Venice, three routes of visit have been planned: the Neoclassical rooms, where sculptures by Canova are exposed, the Venetian Civilization itinerary (an interesting exhibit of symbols of the Venetian institutions and objects from daily life during the Age of the Republic) and the Ancient Art Collections with the picture gallery.

Correr Museum’s collections are since 1922 housed in the Ala Napoleonica and partly in the Procuratie Nuove building on Saint Mark square. The Napoleon’s wing was built in the beginning of XIX century and was hosting the French and the Austrian royal courts during their visits to Venice.
