Murano Glass Museum
The glass museum of Venice
Murano Glass Museum was founded in 1861, and it constitutes a perfect starting point for a visit to Murano island and to its glass factories.
It provides visitors with a clear chronological insight on the production of Murano glass, ranging from archaeological finds (late Roman age glasses were found on Torcello island and in coastal towns of the Adriatic sea) to contemporary pieces of art donated by glass factories to Murano Glass Museum.
The Glass Museum is located on Murano island, in Fondamenta Giustinian, facing the Grand Canal (which should not be confused with the Grand canal of Venice).
