Murata Theatre

La Murata Theatre of Mestre, on Venice’s mainland, is named after the Italian word mura, to mean that it is located on the site of the ancient walls which existed in the centre of Mestre.
It is a small space which makes itself a name on the artistic scene of the town since 1970: despite its reduced space (only 70 seats), important Italian artists have performed here, like Roberto Benigni, Lella Costa, Dario Fo and Sabina Guzzanti.
Shows for children are held on Sundays afternoon, courses for actors take place during the week.
