Palazzo Mocenigo museum
Palazzo Mocenigo museum
Palazzo Mocenigo museum contains the most important collection of Venetian fabrics and costumes.
Visiting Palazzo Mocenigo is much more than a history class: it is travelling back in time, it is a romantic journey in the daily life of Venice Republic, when differences in uniforms and clothes were marking differences in social status and roles. It is also an exhibition of valuable examples of local craftmanship, such as Venetian lace, some of them being real pieces of art.
The prestigious location of the museum in Palazzo Mocenigo, a XVII century palace, adds magic to visitor’s experience thanks to its ancient frescoes and paintings.
