Rialto Bridge

Rialto Bridge

Rialto bridge connects the districts of San Polo and San Marco, and it is the geographical heart of the town.
On the side of San Polo, Rialto groceries and fish market is held every morning, but there also many souvenirs’ shops that are very popular among tourists.
More shops, many of them jewelries, are located on the top of Rialto bridge, in spaces that had anciently been designed for this purpose.
The best way to enjoy the magic of the view of the Grand Canal from Rialto bridge is going there early in the morning, when the crowds of locals and visitors still have to arrive. Old palaces and various boats can be observed from the top: from police boats to vaporettos, from firemen’s boats to boat for the collection of garbage.
