San Gregorio (Church)

A Gothic apse

San Gregorio church in Venice was founded in IX century and became a Benedictine abbey in XII. Suppressed by Napoleon, it later served as a workshop for the Zecca (mint) and later as a laboratory of restaurations.
Nowadays it is not in use, but from the outside it is however possible to admire its Gothic facade and the apse which faces the Grand Canal.
