A circular church

Santa Maria Maddalena church in Venice is located in Cannaregio district, not far from the water bus stop of San Marcuola. The Pantheon building served as a model for it: on the outside, Maria Maddalena church has an uncommon circular shape, while the interior is exagonal. The project was by Temanza, better known as a theorist, who was also buried inside the temple.
The present day’s church was completed in the 1760’s, altought a church existed here since XIII century.
