Actv and public transportation in Venice
Actv is the public transportation company of Venice. Due to the size and to the specificity of Venetian territory (composed not only by the old town of Venice but also by the modern districts and towns on the mainland and by its islands), Actv manages both vaporetti (water busses which operate in Venice and on the islands), busses (operating on the mainland and between Venice and the mainland) and ferries (connecting mainland to some of the islands, such as Lido).
On the Actv website it is possible to plan a journey on the public transportation network of Venice and also to obtain information in English on lines and fares.
