Famous Venetians welcome you in their city

When it comes to famous Venetians, the first name which comes to mind is Giacomo Casanova: born in Venice, he travelled in many countries, laying the foundation for his International reputation of lover and adventurer.
Another famous traveller, and famous Venetian, was Marco Polo, the first Western to travel in Ancient China, in XIII century. Its book of memoirs, Il Milione, was an instant success.
Later in the history of the Republic of Venice, we find Carlo Goldoni, probably the most famous Venetian of XVIII century.
Goldoni was an important playwright, and wrote both in Italian and in Venetian dialect. His comedies are still popular and acted.
