Venice Marathon

The marathon of Venice

Probably the most charming marathon in the world, Venice Marathon is a challenging competition reserved to professional athletes.
Its 42 kilometres and 195 metres long route starts in Stra, on the Brenta River on the mainland, and ends on Riva dei Sette Martiri, just after Saint Mark square. Venice Marathon includes a 160 meters long floating bridge on the Grand Canal, probably making it the only marathon in the world where athletes can literally run on the water.
Venice Marathon takes place on the fourth Sunday of October, and it is attended by local and International participants.
