Venetian food to bring back home

 If the most typical Venetian food is fish, when it is time to choose something to bring back home, the most suitable choice are probably sweets and cookies, easier to carry on the plane. 
Many specialized shops selling Venetian food offer the possibility of purchasing packets of cookies such as baicoli (to eat with zabaione cream or chocolate), buranei or bussolai (to be served with sweet wine). 
Crostolifritole and castagnole are fried sweets which are only prepared and consumed during Carnival: being fat (and delicious) foods, people were encouraged to eat them before Lent’s dietary restrictions.
