Angelo Raffaele (Church)
One of the oldest churches on Venice
Angelo Raffaele church (Anzolo Rafael in Venetian) is supposed to be one of the oldest churches on Venice, maybe dating back to the VII century as a legend says it was built by Saint Magnus, bishop of the town of Oderzo at the time Venice was being populated from the mainland.
Popularly know as the church of Angelo Raffaele, it is officially dedicated to Archangel Raphael, who is even represented in the interior paintings while he is healing Saint Tobias.
San Raffaele Arcangelo church is one of the only two churches in Venice that it is possible to walk all around.
It is located in Dorsoduro neighbourhood, close to San Basilio water bus stop.
