City Tours

The unavoidable Venice experience
In this page, you will be presented with a short introduction to what may be considered the most typical among classical tours of Venice.
A promenade around Saint Mark square is surely a not-to-miss Venetian experience for everyone coming for the first time in the lagoon. In order to avoid the crowd, we recommend you to choose the late evening, when the square is not filled with people, especially in winter time.
Take your time to walk around Saint Mark church and the Doge’s palace; a classic tour of Venice will typically feature crossing the Ponte della Paglia, staring at the lagoon and trying to imagine the sospiri (the sights) of the people walking inside the Ponte dei Sospiri, condemned to spend the rest of their lives in the darkness of Piombi’s prison.
Of course, dedicate some time to visit the interior of the church and the palace is also highly recommendable: the ancient treasures of the Serenissima Republic will literally leave you breathless.
And to end your first evening in Venice, why not to take a romantic gondola ride at sunset?
