The Biennale of Venice

Home to the main cultural events of Venice

Venice Biennale is the main cultural event in Venice, and one of the most important in the world.
When talking about Venice Biennale, normally people refer to the Contemporary Art Exhibition which is held every two years in Venice, in several exhibition spaces: the Giardini (on Sant’Elena island not far from Saint Mark), the Arsenale and many other smaller locations all across Venice.
However, the Venice Film Festival (held every year) is also part of the Biennale of Venice, and so are the Biennale of Architecture (organized in the years when the Biennale of Art is not active), the Festival of Contemporary Dance and many other collateral events that are held all the year.
