More than 25,000 objects are on display at the Naval History Museum, dating back to the period when Venice was the head of a colonial empire which extended from the Northern Adriatic sea to Dalmatian coast and Cyprus island.
The most famous piece on display at Naval Museum is an impressive reproduction of Bucintoro (Bucentaur in English), a decorated galey used by the Doge to perform the ceremony of the Marriage of the Sea.
