San Giovanni Battista in Bragora (Church)

A lovely location for Bragora church

The church of San Giovanni Battista in Bragora, also popularly known just as Bragora church, stays in the homonym, lovely square not far from Saint Mark. It has a Gothic style facade which reminds about Frari church, although less impressive.
Allegedly built in VIII century, it was reconstructed in the following century to house relics of St. John the Baptist. The present church dates back to late XV century and hosts artworks by Cima da Conegliano and Vivarini.
San Giovanni in Bragora church also conserves the font used to baptise Vivaldi, who was born nearby.
