Santa Maria del Rosario / dei Gesuati (Church)

Modelled on the Redentore

Gesuati church, officially dedicated to Santa Maria del Rosario, was built in 1524 by the Poor Gesuati order, which had arrived in Venice from Tuscany. After the suppression of Gesuati order, Dominicans bought the place and constructed the present church, bigger than the previous one.
The facade, an impressive work by Massari, is decorated with statues representing the four virtues. Just like the interior, it was modelled on the Redentore church, on the opposite side of Giudecca canal.
Paintings by Tintoretto, Piazzetta and Tiepolo.
