Santi Apostoli (Church)
The bishop's vision
Santi Apostoli church was allegedly founded by Saint Magnus, bishop of Oderzo in VII century, on the place where he would have seen twelve cranes (therefore symbolizing the twelve apostles). After several rebuildings and restaurations, the style of the church is no longer clearly identifiable; however, it is clearly visible the XV century Corner chapel by Codussi, where members of the Corner family were buried. Among them, Queen of Cyprus Caterina Cornaro, whose body was then moved to San Salvador church.
Campo Santi Apostoli is at the end of the Strada Nuova, only three bridges away from Rialto bridge.
