From July 20 to August 3, 2012

From July 20 to August 3, 2012 there will be the fifth edition of the Venice Jazz Festival. The event presents a program of international concerts, featuring numerous events, dedicated to music, art, literature and housed in charming and prestigious venues in Venice.

The first event of the festival will be held July 20 at the Teatro Goldoni with Buena Vista Social Club-Group Company Segundo, the historic group brought to the attention of the international audience by the film director Wim Wenders.

On July 29, at the Teatro La Fenice, will be the turn of Gilberto Gil, bossa nova legend, leader of a tropical, musical and cultural ambassador of Brazil. 

On July 31, in the splendid garden of the Guggenheim Collection in Venice, concert of Cesare Picco, one of the most innovative and sought after pianists of the contemporary scene.

The Goldoni Theatre will host on August 2 the double concert of Japanese Hiromi  with Tord Gustavsen Ensemble.

Reading of well-known contemporary authors, accompanied by live musicians will be held at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia plate with Francis, Emidio Clementi Francesca Gentiles.
